Youth in Action for Change 2019-2020

Beneficiaries Description: Project directly targets about 120 students of 3 universities of Gyumri, Gavar and Vanadzor and young adults of surrounding communities; and 90 graduates of those 3 universities. Total number of direct beneficiaries is 210 youth. Indirectly project targets the other students of those 3 universities, universities' administration and staff, families of the graduates/students, community members. 

Project Areas: Gegharkounik (Gavar), Shirak (Gyumri) and Lori (Vanadzor) 

Project Goal: To promote youth of Gyumri, Vanadzor and Gavar regions

a/ to identify and find/ suggest solutions to existing problems particularly via public debate,

b/ to monitor, report on, and follow-up the processes of the implementation of state agencies’ policies directed to the solutions of the identified issues in the spheres of Environment, Human Rights Promotion and Protection, and Economic Stability through collaboration with other stakeholders (state agencies, NGOs, local community) and proactive participation in decision making. 

Project Objectives: 

  • To enhance the knowledge and skills (particularly debate skills) of nearly 90 graduates and 120 students/youth from the neighboring communities/ universities of Gyumri, Vanadzor and Gavar towns in the areas of Environment, Human Rights Promotion and Protection, and Economic Stability to prioritize problematic issues in their regions, monitor and report on the developments on the issue, and initiate activities directed to the solution of those issues. 
  • To promote communication and collaboration among the youth of the targeted regions of Armenia and other related organizations working in the areas of Environment, Human Rights Promotion and Protection, and Economic Stability to involve all interested parties in thematic discussions and decision making. 
  • To further develop a network and contacts among the participant youth of the projects.
