Success Story "Liana Petrosyan's journey"

Liana Petrosyan is a skilled confectioner from Stepanakert, Artsakh. Together with her husband, she built a peaceful and fulfilling life, raising their five children. Her husband worked as a sapper with The HALO Trust, while Liana ran a small but growing confectionery business. What began as a home-based activity soon expanded into a rented workshop, where her handmade sweets became both a trusted source of income and a point of pride for the family.

Everything changed on September 26, 2023, when Azerbaijan’s aggression forced Liana’s family — like thousands of others — to flee their home. After a brief yet difficult period in Yerevan, they resettled in Goris and began rebuilding their lives from the ground up. Liana’s husband now works privately in apartment renovation and interior design, while Liana found the strength to return to the craft she loves. Starting once again from her own kitchen, she resumed producing pastries and sweets, slowly restoring her sense of purpose and hope.

Her dream is to one day purchase a home where one room can serve as a dedicated workshop and small shop for her confectionery business. Now expecting her sixth child, Liana continues to face life’s challenges with remarkable resilience, optimism, and determination.

With the support of Jinishian Memorial Foundation’s project, co-funded by AmCham, she received essential equipment — including a food processor, refrigerator, and vacuum sealing machine with vacuum bags — helping her expand production and move closer to rebuilding a sustainable business for her family’s future.
