Village Health Post Nurse Capacity Development Project in Karabakh- Phase I

Beneficiaries Description: 58 village health nurses

Project Areas: Askeran and Shushi regions of Karabakh

Project Goal: To improve the accessibility and delivery of quality primary health care at the village level in NKR.

Project Objectives:

  1. To support the MoH of NKR to establish Village Nurse Certification Program for health post nurses of Karabakh through readjustment, adoption and approval of the Village Nurse Educational Curriculum (with its testing system) developed for village nurses working in Armenian according to the requirements and Terms of Reference for village nursing set by the MoH of NKR for Karabakh village nurses.
  2. To develop capacities of 7 doctors/nurses of NKR to become trainers and conduct trainings for village nurses through organizing Training of Trainers (ToT) courses at National Institute of Health in Yerevan.
  3. To improve professional skills and develop knowledge of 58 village health post nurses of Askeran and Shushi region
