Early Detection of Preterm Births and Congenital Malformations in Armenia

Beneficiaries Description: Direct beneficiaries of the project are 48 ultrasound specialists from 37 towns of Armenia, and 15,000-20,000 pregnant women and newborns of these towns.

Project Goal: To reduce newborn and infant mortality rate and improve the quality of life of children with congenital malformations in Armenia.

Project Objectives:

  1. By June of 2014 to develop educational modules and guidelines/protocols for early detection of congenital malformations in Yerevan.
  2. By the end of 2014 to improve the knowledge and skills of 48 regional ultrasound medical doctors in early detection of congenital malformations in Yerevan.
