Guarding Against Bird Flu

Beneficiaries Description: 2800 households living in 50 risky villages in Shirak, Ararat, Armavir and Gegharkounik Marzes (700 households in each Marz)

Project Goal:
The goal of the project is to ensure that the people living in 50 risky villages in Shirak, Ararat, Armavir and Gegharkuonik Marzes of Armenia are informed on measures to prevent the spread of the H5N1 avian influenza disease and are able to protect themselves.

Project objective: To increase the awareness of villagers on taking necessary measures to prevent the spread of the H5N1 avian influenza disease through conducting individual visits to 2800 households living in the selected 50 risky villages from Shirak, Ararat, Gegharkounik and Armavir Marzes and spreading accessible and practical information from March 15 to March 21, 2006
