Youth Engaged in Society - TV Debates 2011 (YES TV Debates)

Beneficiaries Description: Direct beneficiaries are 220 students, 120 as debaters and 100 as observers in the auditorium, from Yerevan and 11 towns’ mainstream schools. Indirect beneficiaries are Yerkir Media TV audience, Schools’ administrations, students, parents of the students.

Project Goal: to empower youth and provide them an opportunity and space for civic participation via using a format of structured TV debate in Armenia.

Project Objectives:

  • To increase the knowledge and interest of young Armenians in key issues related to the development of civil society, democracy, and human rights.
  • To enhance the research and debating skills of the 220 selected school students via preparation and participation in TV debates.
  • To contribute to the development of the culture of the debate via mass media influence and support.
