Ensure Sustainability of Rehabilitation Treatment in Marzes of Armenia– Phase II

Beneficiaries Description: Approximately 1,500 disabled children and 24 regional doctors and nurses of Vayots Dzor, Syunik, Ararat, Aragatsotn and Kotayk marzez 

Project Areas:  Yerevan, Vayots Dzor, Syunik, Ararat, Aragatsotn and Kotayk marzes

Project Goal: Early detection and intervention of disability in children living in 5 marzes of Armenia

Project Objectives:

  1. To upgrade/improve the skills of regional “old” rehab teams’ doctors and nurses for more professionally serving the needs of the disabled children of the Vayots Dzor, Siunik, Ararat Aragatsotn and Kotayk marzes of Armenia by the end of 2009.
  2. To develop the skills of regional doctors and nurses, and create “new” rehab teams for early intervention and diagnostics of disability in children in Vaik city of Vayots Dzor marz, Kapan city of Siunik marz and Talin city of Aragatsotn marz by the end of 2009.
  3. To establish a network between Regional Rehab Teams and Republican Pediatric Rehabilitation Center of Yerevan and Arabkir Medical Center by the end of 2009.
