Disability Prevention Among Children and Outreach Clinics in Armenia - Phase VI

Beneficiaries Description: Direct beneficiaries of the project are about 4,000 newborns, 200 disabled children (to be identified) and 9 trained doctors of the targeted regions. Indirect beneficiaries are the families of the newborns and disabled children.

Project Areas:  Alaverdi city of Lori region, Eghvard city of Kotayk marz, Vedi city of Ararat region, Vayk and Jermuk cities of Vayots dzor region of Armenia and Yerevan. 

Project Goal: To reduce DDH disability among children and improve the quality of life of disabled children in Alaverdi city of Lori region, Eghvard city of Kotayk marz, Vedi city of Ararat region, Vayk and Jermuk cities of Vayots dzor region of Armenia and Yerevan.

Project Objectives:

  1. By the end of 2016 to improve the knowledge and skills of 9 medical doctors from 5 targeted regions on prevention and management of DDH.
  2. By the end of 2016 to improve the quality of life of disabled children of 5 targeted regions of Armenia by conducting 5 outreach clinics for medical examination.
  3. By the end of 2016 to improve technical capacities of 5 maternity homes of targeted regions of Armenia by providing infant ultrasound screening tables.
